Upon arrival at the Showka Dam meeting point you will receive your packed lunch (if booked) and a safety briefing from your Trek Leader who will answer any questions you may have regarding the Trek. Climb the “tyrering stairs” up and over “Mount Doom” and down to the bottom of the valley of ‘”Mordor”. Here, we’ll catch our breath to ensure none are left behind and everyone is safe and happy. We then proceed along the edge of the riverbed and on to “Rivendale”, where we will stop for a light snack and refreshments. Then, it’s through “Rivendale” and onto the coursing waters of the rockpool, where we will stop for a lunch break (15-20 mins). Then we scale the length of the “White Wall” which will take us to the bottom of “Dragon’s Back”, a short but steep climb (300m). Your hearts will be pumping and thumping as we head up the “Dragons Back” to the trail on Mount Doom, to take in more spectacular views of the landscape that surrounds us! Once satisfied, we’ll head back home, ensuring you all arrive safely. Once you’ve had the chance to rest and use the washrooms, it’s in the coaches and back to the bustling city limits of Dubai!

The best time to visit Dubai is in the winter months, from November to April. Different nationalities have different criteria that need to be fulfilled to obtain a valid visa. American citizens
who have regular passports do not need to have a visa. Visas are available upon arrival at the UAE airport. Travellers can get a Tourist Visa which is valid for 30 days, a Service Visa which is valid for 14 days, or a Visit Visa from a hotel or a travel company, based on reservation. Entry into the UAE is subject to immigration approval. Your ticket is non-refundable if your visa has been issued and is used. Visas take approximately three to four working days to process. Visa fees are non-refundable, once paid.
Whether you are visiting Dubai for the first time or not, it's always good to learn about the region and the culture you are going into before travelling. Here are some pointers to keep in mind: Both
women and men must dress modestly. Swimwear is to be worn on the beach and by poolside only. While in public, you are free to hold hands, but long kisses and hugs are discouraged. Please do not indulge in excessive public drinking. Do not drink and drive. It is considered polite to use your right hand when greeting someone or taking or receiving a gift. Wait for the courtesy of the handshake to be extended to you, and not before. Pointing the soles of your shoes at anyone or crossing your legs is considered rude. Always ask for permission before taking a photo of locals. Please avoid bringing up controversial topics, such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
