Timing matters!

Desert safaris are available at various times, which adds to your preference. Plan your day’s itinerary and choose between morning and evening safaris. The morning safari usually starts around 8:30 a.m., there’s something mesmerizing about heading out into the dunes while the city around you sleeps; desert sunrises can be truly spectacular, and if you want to splurge and add a hot air balloon ride to your itinerary, morning is the time to do so.

It’s also cooler in the early morning for obvious reasons, but the glare of the mid-afternoon heat may shrivel up the spirits of children or elderly companions. If you intend to tour the city’s other sights, you can vote for the morning desert safari that will give you adequate time to discover the city at your leisure. A late-afternoon desert safari, on the other hand, has a lot of appeals, not least because of the later start time. This option typically begins between 3 pm and 4 pm, which means you should be seated pretty on top of a sand dune by sunset. Evening Dubai desert safaris are well-known for their stunning sunsets and snazzy breeze waves from the wilderness.

However, the packages are certainly eventful; no matter what time of day it is, the desert charisma and splendor will remain the very same, and there will be no undermining in amusement.

Pre Dubai Desert Safari Measures

Precautionary Measures

Always bring plenty of water before beginning your voyage in the desert, particularly before dune bashing, which is a bouncing voyage. So, if you really want a true sandy experience, never stock up on water or other food items before embarking on the thrilling trip.

Be Comfy

Always wear a proper hat, sunnies, and a high-definition camera to capture all exhilarating remembrances. Drones are not permitted during desert trips, so it is best to avoid bringing them with you. Your dress code should be appropriate for the climate and surroundings, such as loose dress suits that do not irk you all through your adventurous journey. Also, carry a jacket, the evening breeze is going to make you crave one.

Physical Caution

Dune bashing is not preferred for visitors with cardiac or back problems. Pregnant women are specifically forbidden from participating in this bumpy safari. Pregnant women can forgo the dune bashing and go straight to the desert camp to relish the desert safari exercises. Pregnant women are not advised to go on a morning desert safari. In that case, you can book a desert safari that does not include dune bashing.

Check-in with Everyone

If you and your family are not comfortable with a live belly dance show or shisha smoking, you can book a desert tour without it; your safari captain will pick you up from the desert camp before the show begins and will exclude the activity; or book a morning desert tour. There are no belly dance shows during the morning safari tour.

Learned from the Field (some pro tips that we learned from our experience)

Fill your Backpack with Water Bottles and Tissues.

Whereas the desert safari will undoubtedly have free-flowing water, I would recommend bringing a bottle of water with you. It takes an hour to drive out to the desert, and it’s always a good idea to bring your own water bottle at least for the journey there and back. Another thing and this isn’t a requirement, but it’s a better option, is to trade in your snazzy purses for a strong backpack. It will be much easier to enjoy yourself when you are not concerned about your wallet. Don’t forget to drink some water while you’re jumping in the sand. The sun quickly dehydrates you, so it’s critical to replenish your fluids.

Take in the Sunset

While this should go without saying, I believe it is necessary to mention it. Don’t forget to set aside some time to watch a desert sunset. It’s one of the most beautiful sights you’ll ever see, so take a few minutes to savor the moment and not end up wasting it taking pictures for Facebook, but really take in the scenery. The stunning sunset is worth seeing, and the Dubai desert provides the most picturesque colors!

Make new Friends

And by this, I mean both human, avian, feline, and everything in between. Make some new friends and carry the memory. A not-so-secret is, the more the merrier. Befriend the other safari companions/groups and share some laughs together!

Come for the Sand, but Stay for the Spectacle.

Every desert safari concludes with a spectacular show under the stars. With belly dancing, there are a few more items on the list. And it is the least to say that they are so captivating! The performers are from all over the world and make the ambiance very enjoyable.
